I’m based in HMRC Leeds Regional Centre as a Technical Consultant supporting ITSA Compliance Caseworkers in Leeds, Manchester, Liverpool and Nottingham.
My current PCS roles are R&C Group Regional Learning Coordinator (RLC) for Yorkshire and the Humber (Y&H), ‘ORACLE’ magazine Editorial Board member and one of the Y&H Regional Committee Vice Chairs across all departments.
I’ve been active in PCS and legacy unions for over 30 years, in many workplaces and branches, with other roles such as Personal Case Handler, Group / National Conference Delegate, ULR, Treasurer, Training Officer and National Lay Tutor delivering Reps courses.
As RLC, I work closely with the other RLCs, GEC Learning Lead, National Learning Organiser at PCS, UnionLearn from the TUC and in turn with Leeds and Bradford Branch Learning Coordinators / ULRs to deliver learning events for members.
On the GEC sub committee for ORACLE, I drafted the February ‘Get more active in PCS’ Members Briefing to attend AGMs, highlighting the need for more Reps and participation in the Equality Advisory Groups, especially the Young Members Network.
On the Regional Committee, I help other PCS branches with their campaigns, for example, over the current 60% office attendance being imposed.
As a Socialist and long standing member of Left Unity (LU), I am seeking nomination to the GEC for the first time as I want to help PCS to continue being a fighting union and to continue to build membership; both go hand in hand.
If the current talks fail with the Cabinet Office over Cohesion Pay, PCS should ballot for IA.
Please nominate me and my fellow LU comrades.
