Oli Rahman for DWP GEC 2025

I am honoured to stand for re-election to the DWP Group Executive Committee (GEC), continuing my commitment to defending members rights and improving our working conditions. With over 23 years as a dedicated union member, I have worked tirelessly to support colleagues, challenge unfair policies, and push for a fairer workplace.

As East London Branch Chair and lead office rep for Ilford Service Centre, I have successfully represented members in complex cases, including at ACAS and employment tribunals. I understand the pressures our members face daily, and I am committed to ensuring that your voice is heard at the highest levels.

Beyond the workplace, my experience as an elected councillor and deputy mayor has strengthened my ability to negotiate, advocate, and fight for justice. I have also been deeply involved in community activism, from setting up a food bank during the pandemic to campaigning for social justice causes.

If re-elected, I will continue to:

Fight for a workplace free from bullying, harassment, and excessive pressure.

Demand fair pay, better working conditions, and stronger job security.

Push back against unfair policies that negatively impact staff and services.

Stand up for equality, fairness, and the well-being of every member.

In these challenging times, we need strong, experienced representatives who will not back down. I am committed to standing up for you, ensuring that our union remains a powerful force for positive change.

I urge you to vote for Oliur Rahman, along with Angela Grant for President and all LU candidates, to build a stronger, fairer future for all members.

Vote Oliur Rahman for DWP GEC. A Proven Voice for Members!
