Oli Rahman for DWP GEC 2024

I am honoured to stand for the DWP GEC position, having been a dedicated union member for over 23 years. Serving as the East London Branch Chair and lead office rep for Ilford Service Centre, I’ve successfully represented members in various cases, even navigating complex situations with ACAS and employment tribunals.

My passion lies in defending members’ rights and creating a positive work environment. My extensive experience, including roles in local government as an elected counselor and deputy mayor, has equipped me to understand a wide range of issues our members face.

Members are the backbone of our union, and my commitment to fairness, equality, and justice drives me to fight for their well-being. If elected, I aim to enhance our services, ensuring a workplace free from bullying and harassment, where members can serve the public without undue stress.

The challenges posed by current policies demand proactive support. I’ve been actively involved in community work, from establishing a Covid-era food bank to passionately contributing to the Palestinian campaign. I believe in going beyond, making lives better not only for our members but for the broader community.

In these times of uncertainty, I am dedicated to navigating the impact of right-wing policies. I urge your support to amplify our collective voice, advocating for a better future. Together, let’s build a union that stands strong, united, and committed to the well-being of every member. Your vote for me is a vote for justice, equality, and a brighter future for us all.

Please vote for all the Left Unity candidates.
