I started in the Civil Service in October 2020, immediately joining PCS. Since becoming a rep in March 2024, I have fought for our members every day across my branch and within my own area of UC National Services. Proactively consulting with members, I’ve negotiated with local management to fight for fair treatment and worked with DWP Group Officers to escalate issues.
As an active personal case rep, I’ve fought and won for members by securing reasonable adjustments and pushed back against the ever increasing restrictions that our members face with acccessing hybrid working.
Being a young member, I know the way that chronic low pay limits our opportunities, how we are disrespected by management and I share frustration at a political mainstream which doesn’t act on our concerns. Serving as DWP Northern Regional Young Members officer, I’ve worked to provide a space for us to discuss our concerns and organise campaigns for better. If elected to the NEC, I’d be a strong voice for young workers and push for PCS to remain an active voice for peace and justice both in the UK and abroad.
As Assistant Branch Organiser in one of the largest branches in DWP, I’ve seen the impact of the Organising Strategy that our Democracy Alliance-led NEC has worked to embed this year, providing us with tools to target our recruitment and run effective local campaigns. This contrasts with the chaos that the previous “Coalition for Change”-led NEC left us.
If elected to the NEC, I will work alongside other Democracy Alliance comrades to:
- Continue to deliver for our members on pay, job security and access to hybrid working through negotiations with the Cabinet Office, while also working to build our organising capacity so we can respond industrially when needed
- Ensure a strong voice for young members so that PCS continues to empower us with the tools and spaces to organise
- Continue to hold Capita and the Cabinet Office to account for the Civil Service Pensions scandal, pushing further for quicker resolution and proper compensation.
I’m a proud socialist and member of Left Unity. Please elect the Democracy Alliance candidates below:
