My name is Lorna Kennedy, and I’m asking for your support in the Group Editor election.
I’ve been a PCS rep since 2008, standing shoulder to shoulder with members, organising in the workplace, and fighting back against attacks on our jobs, pay and conditions. I currently serve as Branch Chair for Fylde, Group Assistant Secretary, — roles that keep me rooted in the real experiences of our members every day.
I’m proud to be a member of Left Unity and a socialist. I believe our union must be bold, democratic and unapologetic in defending working people. Under Left Unity leadership, PCS has taken a clear stand — resisting cuts, campaigning on pay, and putting equality at the heart of everything we do. That’s the kind of leadership we need, and the kind of message our communications should reflect.
The Group Editor role isn’t just about reporting — it’s about organising. It’s about giving members a voice, shining a light on injustice, and building the confidence and strength we need to win. Our communications should inform, inspire and mobilise.

If elected, I will:
- Put members’ voices front and centre
- Highlight workplace issues and campaigns without hesitation
- Promote equality and challenge discrimination in all its forms
- Use communication as a tool to build a stronger, more active union
I will always be on the side of members, and I will use this role to help build a fighting PCS that delivers for all of us.
If you want a strong, socialist voice and a Group Editor who will stand up, speak out, and organise — I ask for your support.
