I have been an activist in PCS and it’s predecessor CPSA since 1988. Over the years I have held numerous Branch Positions, Regional Organiser, and Section\Group Scrutineer (over 30 years). I am currently Branch Secretary. I work part time and term time and am fully committed to ensuring equality for all. I will fully represent all members and fight for equality and fair treatment at both local and national levels if successful.
PCS members in DWP have faced huge challenges, not just in terms of pay, terms and conditions but with ongoing battles to keep you safe at work, and to allow those that can work from home to do so. You need and deserve strong leadership.
Members need a union that stands up for them, that focuses its efforts on building strength to win gains at work, that is capable of fighting for improvements and is not afraid to tackle difficult issues with robust negotiations, backed up by membership support.
I firmly believe we can never lose sight of the fact that members and their issues are why we are TU Representatives and why we need a strong Leadership so we can deliver for them. I believe that the current Leadership and those who have been nominated by Left Unity are key to our way forward, the record shows that we can be trusted to deliver for members.
I pledge to work closely with my colleagues on the GEC to further the fight for better pay and conditions, more permanent staff, ensure staff safety, and to build organisation in our struggle to support all PCS members in the DWP.

Recruiting new members to the union is key to ensuring we build our strength and our voice in the workplace. I will work to ensure that every new entrant into the Department is not only asked to join PCS but is shown why it’s so important they are part of the fight for their interests at work.
Only where we have good organisation and good reps speaking up for members can we continue to win concessions.
