I joined DWP in February 2006 and joined PCS the same week. Being part of a union has always been important to me coming from a strong trade unionist family background and wherever I have been employed over the years it has been of key importance to me to be part of the union.
As a proud socialist and TU activist there has never been any option for me during my employment with DWP other than to be a member of PCS /Left Unity, our members deserve the strong leadership that LU/Democracy Alliance provides and if re-elected I will play my part in helping to build on delivering the results that this leadership have already proved are achievable. I will continue to work to help deliver on our campaigns on pay, pensions and staffing and fight for equality for all.
I have held a number of union positions over the years starting initially as a ULR then Branch Learning officer, Branch Organiser, Health and Safety officer to currently being Branch Secretary and Regional Organiser as well as being a personal case rep helping to fight the many issues and inequalities our members face on a daily basis.
I am also the current DWP Group Treasurer and I am seeking your support in my re-election to this post. This has been a role that I have undertaken with the diligence and scrutiny that is expected and I have undertaken the timely checking and authorisation of expenditure as required .
Please support my fellow LU/Democracy Alliance comrades for a stronger Union that is fully committed to our members.
