I have been an active part of PCS majority of my working life, and I am asking for your support for re-election to the DWP Group Executive Committee. I am an active, committed socialist and proud to be a member of Left Unity. Being re-elected to the GEC will give me the opportunity to continue representing members interests at a higher level and I will continue fighting for a better Civil Service. If re-elected I will continue to defend members interests and raise issues to a higher level for a better chance to resolve problematic policies. My commitment to members will be the best chance of better working conditions. I continue showing the same dedication to members’ issues nationally that I do locally engaging with members; making sure members are treated fairly and equally, and protecting and extending members’ rights at work by negotiation with the employer and by campaigning alongside my fellow elected reps.

I am active within the local branch as Assistant Secretary and experienced personal case rep, DWP NE region organiser, nationally as a member of the DWP GEC. I’m proactive in supporting members; the need for above inflation pay increases for all members, fighting against inequality and discrimination, bringing outsourced workers back into the Civil Service, and pushing for a more environmentally sustainable future. My current roles allow me to represent the interests of members individually and as part of the wider collective.
Left Unity have been at the forefront of fighting for members’ rights within DWP and the wider Civil Service; opposing government cuts, campaigning for equal pay, defending civil service pensions, and fighting inequality at every turn. I am proud of what Left Unity members have already done for the membership during the last year by standing side by side with members on pickets.
