At 19 years old I joined PCS as an advocate and now at 25 I proudly sit on the DWP Group Executive Committee alongside several of my fiercely devoted Left Unity colleagues – a role for which I am incredibly grateful and do not take for granted.

I humbly seek your support for re-election to the DWP Group Executive Committee to continue my important work as group Young Members Officer, advocating for not only young workers but every single member of PCS and bridging the gaps between us all.

PCS leads the way in advocating for fair pay for all UK government workers, defending occupational pensions in the public sector, combatting discrimination in all forms, protecting the livelihoods of thousands of staff, and fighting to secure the future of their workplaces.

Our valued members’ collective involvement is the key to our success, and a Left Unity led PCS places the highest priority on member cooperation and engagement to accomplish this.

I am deeply passionate about young workers issues and equality issues, myself being a young mixed race civil servant with hidden disabilities. Our union must be protected the way it protects the rights of many of us alike. To achieve this, we must exercise our democracy and elect representatives who actively plan for our futures, have our collective best interests at heart, and have consistently shown the selfless dedication required to continue the inspiring legacy of our union.

Our members deserve a trade union whose leaders live by and value their strong beliefs in solidarity, integrity, and unity. A leadership that delivers what is promised, leads by knowledge & example, and chooses to act together as a united front in the face of adversity. These are your Left Unity candidates.

Your Left Unity leadership is committed to and will never stop fighting for safer, healthier working environments, financial security, a work/life balance that is palpable, improvements to service delivery, sufficient staffing levels, tangible equality in the workplace, and so much more.

My continued personal goals are to increase the membership & involvement of young workers in PCS, revitalise our young members networks, support the development of nurturing spaces for all members from a variety of backgrounds to connect, and to encourage an environment of friendship and mentorship between new and experienced PCS reps.
