I’ve worked in the Civil Service and been a member of PCS since 2001. I have spent all of that time in the Home Office, working between Croydon and Central London. I have been an activist since 2003 and have held positions both in my branch and nationally in the Home Office Group. I’m currently the Branch Secretary in Croydon and have been Group President in the Home Office for the last six years. I’ve also served on the NEC for the last two years.
I’m proud that in the last year the Home Office group were at the forefront of our industrial campaign. We delivered sustained action, resulting in significant pay rises for our members. Along the way we increased membership by over 10%, that’s after 20% rise in 2022.
Our members have found themselves at the forefront of some of the Tories worst legislation, but we have been active in fighting back over the pushback policy, Rwanda scheme and now the minimum service levels act.
