I am asking for your support for re-election as a GEC member.
Every encounter comes as a shock working for the Department. Every day you are challenged with members concerns and unfavourable treatment. Everyone is not the same we are unique and only ask to be respected, treated fairly and supported within our place of work.
I am standing as a proud left unity candidate with over 20 years’ experience as a workplace representative because I believe our union should always stand firmly on the side of its members.
For more than two decades, I have supported colleagues through some of the most difficult moments of their working lives – disciplinary hearings, grievances, sickness absence and capability processes, bullying and harassment cases. I have seen first hand how vulnerable members can feel when facing management alone, and I have made it my priority to ensure they never do.
As a black member, I understand the reality of structural inequality in the workplace. Challenging racism and discrimination is not just a policy position for me, it is personal. I am committed to ensuring our union actively confronts injustice and represents every member with fairness and respect.
Through my involvement in the National Disability forum, I have worked to strengthen support for disabled members advocating for reasonable adjustments, dignity and genuine inclusion. I have stood alongside members facing serious health conditions and mental challenges, ensuring compassion is matched with strong representation.

My approach is simple: be accessible. Be accountable and be prepared to challenge when members’ rights are compromised. I believe in a democratic, campaigning union that listens to its grassroots and is not afraid to speak truth to power.
With over 20 years of experience, I bring resilience, integrity and an unwavering commitment to solidarity.
Members first. Always. Members need strong leadership in DWP.
