I’m seeking your support for election to the NEC for a fourth term. I feel very proud to have had the opportunity to represent members at the top of our union and if elected will continue to grasp every opportunity to work with and for our members.
I have again worked on the international sub-committee, working with affiliate organisations on human rights and anti-war issues and was proud to represent PCS, speaking at the Sudan conference in January this year.
I attended a political education course last year, alongside European Trade Unions, with the aim of strengthening our national and global response to the rise of far‑right groups.
As a delegate at the Womens TUC this year, I voted to ensure that our chosen composite motion, ‘Tackling the Far-right and Weaponisation of Violence against Women and Girls’ was successful in proceeding to this years TUC in Brighton.

I’m a proud longstanding PCS member since January 1991 when I joined the civil service employed by HMPPS. I became active in 2007 and held several branch, region and group roles. I’ve supported members individually in case work and collective bargaining.
Currently I’m an Assistant Secretary in MOJ group and the Chair of the National Trade Union Side in HMPPS, These roles have enabled me to work closely with the wider trade union movement and lead on critical areas such as pay, equality, health and safety, and HR policy.
As a local councillor I present the views of the local community too thereby acting as a conduit for people to have a voice in our society too.
I’m keen to ensure that this year the membership will be supported by the NEC to implement the changes in the Employment Rights Act, countering the negative threats of Artificial Intelligence, push for pay coherence and national pay bargaining, plus building our unions resilience with a proper fighting fund that’s affordable and sustainable. We need to continue a focussed support to ensure members immediately affected by the pension’s debacle are not held in limbo waiting for monies that rightly belong to them.
Over the next 12 months we will need a strong committed NEC who will face head on these challenges and I’m standing with the democracy alliance who are united with our shared values. Together we will build on our previous track record, working collaboratively for the sole interest of the membership.
