Davina Camadoo for DWP GEC 2024

I have been an LU supporter and a H&S rep for several years. I’ve represented members locally, regionally and nationally when on the Group Executive Committee.

The landscape of our workplace issues continues to shift and vanish in some parts of the country, as our offices close, and members are made redundant, yet poor staffing figures remain historically high. Staff stressed and unwell not able to cope under the intensive pressure this landscape provides with not enough staff to deal with the ever rising number of cases awaiting to be dealt with with. Worst yet, the introduction of the Minimum Services Act to prevent workers being heard. The LU leadership have in the interim, monumentally won payments  to address inequalities of COLP and some increase in pay and  continues to support redress of where any monies due/ entitled.  They continue to meet with the employer for better terms and conditions, consult where a dialogue is brought and where breaches of H&S,  equality and employment law need to be addressed urgently.

I wish to continue to be part of the aforesaid leadership that work tirelessly for our members and who are best placed to continue the fight for jobs, pay and against social injustices.

Please support the LU GEC 2024 slate.
