I am an active and visible rep with 15 years of experience across department for transport, HM prison and probation service and HMRC.

I have held various roles as senior branch officers, health and safety officer, personal case co-ordinator, sat on group executive committees and most recently on the national executive committee. In every role I have undertaken, I have put the membership at the heart of what I do, listening to members and acting on what they are telling me, and not using my elected positions to represent my own personal or political viewpoints.
This was my first year in post on the National Executive Committee. I voted in line membership calls across the civil service to pause the levy based on members leaving the union because of cost and feedback I have listened to at various forums, through emails and other such media. I stand by every decision I have voted on for members, and listened to and tried to understand the perspectives of others who may not have agreed with this.

I recognise the issues surrounding office attendance at a local level and the challenges it presents nationally because not every department is working to the same ratio of required days. A particular focus I have worked hard on this year is challenging the conflation between requesting a special working arrangement due to cost of travel or similar and requesting a reduction in days or hours for office attendance as a reasonable adjustment or due to caring responsibilities.
I remain a passionate socialist determined to keep fighting for fair and equitable outcomes for members; not only in individual personal cases, but in Departmental guidance and policies. For these reasons, I am asking for your vote so I can continue to provide the highest level of representation to all members, and ask that you also vote for other democracy alliance candidates who are aligned in providing this.
