Having 15 years trade union experience, I started as a young member, chairing the network across the Midlands. I have held industrial relations rep, health and safety officer, personal case co-ordinator branch organiser and assistant branch secretary roles, alongside having sat on the Regional Committee and Department for Transport Group Executive Committee.
My wealth of experience stretches across branches in HM Revenue and Customs, Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency, HM Prison and Probation Service and the Ministry of Justice’s Office of the Public Guardian. This gives me considerable understanding on impacts faced by PCS members across the civil service, including the various pay constraints and practical application of terms and conditions.

I have been a visible PCS presence across Nottingham’s Unity Square Government Hub, in particular for HMRC. This is demonstrated through leafletting for PCS campaigns outside the premises, representing our membership and recruiting multiple new reps in the process. I have solid working relationships with reps across other Government Departments within and outside of the building to enable effective organisation for common causes and to stand in solidarity with comrades in their own disputes.
I am standing for the National Executive Committee this year because I believe the fight to protect jobs, services remains ever more important as we approach the General Election. I want to put pressure on this Government to recognise the work of our membership, consider our pay in real terms and to put right the pension injustice we have all faced.
I ask you to vote for me, and the other Left Unity candidates, to achieve the best for our members by working together. The membership is at the core of everything I do, whether that is organising Industrial Action, Action Short of Strike or taking more innovative approaches as we maximise the opportunities hybrid working gives us, together we are stronger.
