My name is Angie Jukes and I am honoured to be nominated to the DWP GEC.
I became a rep as there was no CFCD rep. I immediately set up monthly meetings with our local Senior management team, consulting all members on their issues, resolving these at the meetings, then feeding back to members. This means that our members are engaged, and I recruited more reps and members. I have even been called a formidable force on CFCD.
As I have worked within CFCD for many years I sit on the FED Advisory Committee which is a very active and engaged committee with all branch CFCD members.
I am passionate about women’s rights, the majority of our workforce are women, it is mainly women who are the carers, look after the children, juggling their jobs with all the other important and unpredictable things going on in their life.

I am passionate about Equality, the unfairness of DWP policies. I am constantly fighting for our workers rights. Employee Deal has been in for 9 years now and still the policy guidance is not followed or ignored. This is the same for Hybrid and reasonable adjustments guidance. The Attendance management policy is harsh.
If I am elected to DWP GEC I will continue the fight to improve our DWP members rights.
After last years NEC elections saw a new “NEC majority” take control and paralyse our union with their refusal to pause the levy we saw many many members in DWP leave as they couldn’t afford it, and new starters unable to join as they couldn’t afford it.
As our branch and region has a lot of AO members this was a real cause for concern and was also heartbreaking for us and our members, who had supported their union for years, leave the union as they couldn’t afford to pay their subs anymore.
To enable the DWP Group Executive Committee to be able to work together, be strong, and focussed on delivering positive outcomes for our members please nominate myself and the other Left Unity candidates:
