I am seeking nomination and support to be elected to the GEC, I am a member of left unity and a socialist. I will support the full LU slate.
I am acutely aware of the issues we face, as a group and a union, such as in organising, recruitment, campaigns and advocating to ensure fair treatment for all our members. Following last year I took a break from the GEC for personal reasons however I have been actively involved the past year as a branch rep and the left unity steering committee chair, I have worked with my fellow comrades during the continued attacks on our union and supporting members with changes to working conditions and pressures on the return to office movement being enforced without process or review on individual circumstances. If elected I will continue to build upon the efforts of comrades in what has been a difficult year with attacks on pay and terms and conditions, return to office and the political climate. Advocating national and group strategies, especially in light of the growing issues around government and possible upcoming attacks on the trade union movement. I am comfortable in discussions with senior leaders within HMRC and wish to continue these relationships, holding regular meetings not only within my business area but across other business streams as required as well. I am keen to continue working with comrades and official side to ensure fairness and equal treatment within the group.
