For R&C GEC

I am standing for election as a Left Unity (LU) member with together with other socialists, to fight for equity in both the workplace, and wider world.
I have been a representative of PCS since I was 18, holding posts such as branch organiser and chairing the Midlands Young Members committee for several years. Having attended so many regional committees, town committees and trades councils over the years to bring together activism on a larger scale, I consider myself an experienced activist with a genuine interest in improving lives.
Throughout my civil service career I have stood with PCS in Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency, HMP Nottingham, Office of the Public Guardian and HMRC.
I joined LU because I recognised the value of networking with like-minded individuals who like me, take an active role in fighting for fair pay, fair terms and conditions and fair treatment. Whether that is as an active trade unionist in the workplace, attending rallies, organising petitions and recruiting or simply engaging people in how political decisions affect them in real terms.
I am asking you to elect me because of my dedication to the union movement and my commitment to our membership to create a better environment for ourselves, and our future generations.
Thank you for your time in reading this statement and for your consideration going forwards.
